- Tetley masala tea: Found them in the kitchen cabinet as I was hankering for some tea. They bring back fond memories of india as I'm stuck writing articles at 2am in the morning. And did you know, it doesn't taste half bad even if it is iced? Strange but... I like!

- More coup commentary.

- Parents are heading over in two days: It's high time to clean up my act proper and well kinda looking forward to the next two weeks even though I'll have to be on mommy's/daddy's good girl mode 24/7. It's the first time we are travelling as a family (minus sister, and malaysia doesn't count) to a foreign place i.e. shanxi province. Let's hope my camera won't screw up on me this time yay!
- Just used your boot bag ;-) : Exactly the kind of text message that makes one smile at 9pm on a wednesday night.

Something new I should know?
- Bloodless military coup in thailand: So unbelievable because this is the kind of stuff that makes up the bulk of my thai history classes in school. Prime minister heads to vientiene for a vacation and military decides to seize power while he is away except that this time the prime minister wasn't in new york for a holiday when the military struck. Some sort of history in the making, well probably deserving coupla lines' mention in the history books.

- I can't really find fault in it, can I?: Cynical as I am, the MM never fails to win me over when he talks like that.
Weekend updates
- Movies night at J's on friday... was mmmm nice.
- Contrary to popular opinion, I can drink arot i.e. usually during open bars and not get filthy drunk, as witnessed on saturday. I'm starting to suspect that over-generosity (with alcohol) can be a bad thing especially at bonbon because most times I don't remember how I made my exit or walked down the long flight of stairs after a night of silly partying.
- We had brunch at citizen cafe on sunday - I really like the place, its food and the laidback ambience. Looking forward to the day when I would spend a sunday reading a book sipping an iced latte all relaxed and comfy there.
- Accompanying vacationing friends to touristy spots has never been a good idea for as long as I can remember. I ended up shopping too with a new stash at the end of the day.
- Foursome plus one are here for about a week since saturday. Yesterday we brought the phrase "immersing in local culture" to a whole new level by buying eight sets of pyjamas at a dingy roadside makeshift stall then changing into them before we headed out to a restaurant for dinner. It was so funny we took plenty of pictures and laughed non-stop at ourselves. Pictures to be uploaded as soon as I get them from XT.

Suayness to the highest degree
So now I'm limping and my training routine is affected - all because of, I'm suspecting, a wrong step when I was walking in heels on my way home from work on wednesday evening. I didn't even trip or fall, it's pure bad luck I swear nice job, WL . I had to cut short my run yesterday because my foot hurts too much. It seems to have gotten worse today even though I'm wearing flats. Every single step is tortuous bah! I'll be waiting it out over the weekend let's hope it gets better otherwise it will be a trip to the doctor's on monday.

Some things that made me go mmmm (in a cheery way) in recent days
Oh I'm not sure how/if everything will work out in the end, so well one step at a time we'll see.
Great friends who make me laugh out and who at the very least, justify the embarrassingly hideous amounts of time spent in bonbon and seedy bars.
An unexpected change of plans to head to a japanese restaurant for dinner. Never mind that I was looking forward to sichuan cuisine, sashimi and cold soba never fail to perk me up even though they leave my wallet empty at the end of the night.
Email exchanges at work that make time passes faster on slow days.
Seeing myself grow fitter and stronger as the days pass. I can feel my motivation returning, finally.
A manager's surprise detours to my desk.
And J's cologne because it never hurts for a boy to smell nice.
