First 3am Run

I got back from the club past 2.30am and instead of washing up and getting ready for bed, I changed into running gear and headed outside for a run. I guess newfound discipline knows no boundaries. It was surprisingly good though, the light breeze lack of traffic, no gawking passersby except that my knee started hurting nearing the end of my run. I'm making a mental note to get my knee checked out next time I head back home. Let's hope it lasts meanwhile, I'll be sure not to overwork it and yes my kneeguard be on at all times from now on.

New Friends

It was funny how I was supposed to meet JS at 4Live tonight to catch a chinese band gig yet in the end I was there and I didn't get to see the band perform got to know some new friends instead. Two funny korean boys who can't speak much english/chinese, an interesting bunch of french, JS' chinese girlfriend, an asian-american girl who's working as a tv host albeit a "really bad one" she insists, among others. We'll all probably head out again next week, and I probably should brush up on some korean of sorts since counting one to five (which I'd picked up tonight) doesn't really count as much as the korean boys ought to brush up on their english too. One of them actually called to check if I'd reached home, which is kinda nice.

Friday Night Japanese Dinner

I had no plans last night and was planning to head to two cities gallery by myself when R from work asked me out to a dinner with her and her singaporean friends so I agreed. We had a great time in a cozy teeenyweeeny japanese restaurant at julu lu, yummy japanese washed down with plenty of choyas and sakes. Add some french boys next table and a group of "fellow countrymen/women" at our table trying to get me drunk, one can only imagine how rowdy we all were.

  • I guess I'm the only girl in the whole of shanghai who would wake up mildly hungry in the middle of the night then proceed to cook up a big bowl of dumplings. And I wonder where I get that tummy from... late dinners, lack of exercise and beers notwithstanding.

  • Listening to paolo conte's sparring partner gets me all poetic and bittersweet emotional I don't know why. I think I'm just going to keep it looping all night tonight.

  • It's exactly one week after a dear friend's death anniversary. Can't believe it has been three years already.

5x2 (Cinq Fois Deux)

5x2_coucher de soleil

I watched the entire movie in at least 3/4 instalments, late nights after work and I would doze off, so the next night I would figure out where I'd missed and continue from there. Overall the movie was a tat disappointing cos I'd expected more out of it. Other than that, great choice of songs for the soundtrack (I want to get!) plus I just loove valeria bruni-tedeschi's bikinis in this scene, so gorgeous!

  • Certainly I've had my own share of such confusing moments, haha. Mostly it's about one kiss/ two, and I usually hope I'm not the first among everyone else so at least I know what to expect.
