Something Wicked This Way Comes

J arrives in Singapore later today ! Maybe he won’t like it maybe I won’t have time to show everything I heart about my country maybe he doesn’t take to my family a thousand questions a million bits that can go wrong but if he doesn’t come I won’t ever know and I’m glad he is. Tingly with excitement all ups and downs I’m focusing on the chirpy positive that I’ll be doing my best to show him my life pre-China if things go wrong I guess I can’t help it I’ve given it a shot at being good. So yes I can’t wait regardless.

I Bought An Expensive Dress Today

Something I could ill afford, but it is so pretty and versatile… and I’m told to buy clothes for the new year. Consumerist impulse to others but I’m supporting probably my favorite local design collective. Ack ! No more buying new earphones for the ipod.

  • Irregular postings of late, been so caught up in so many things. Hopefully things will get better after the spring festival holidays. Wish me luck.

  • Quote of the day: Cooking pasta is sad without you. Ack, just when I was missing the silly faces.

Weekend Up-Tos #25

The weekend commenced early last week as a result of the new year public holidays.

Picked friends over preference and joined the fancy crowd at New Heights on new year’s eve, in the end good company trumps pretentious strangers, of course the free flow alcohol helped as well.

We traveled together for the first time for a short new year’s getaway to Shaoxing, a town of bridges, canals and home to the infamous yellow wine, which is indeed a bit of an acquired taste. No quarrels or any unhappiness, we aced our first trip and hopefully looking forward to a few more to come in the future.

I tried cheese fondue for the very first time and didn’t drop any bread !

I had to drag myself out of bed on Sunday morning because of a medical examination that was scheduled for 8am, good god.

Can’t believe it’s been six months already. Thank you monsieur petit ami (yes it’s wrong but I like it so) for the brilliant moments and for being patient with me thus far.

My fusion noodles in tomato-based sauce turned out to be awesome though overly fiery spicy, note to self: recipes can sometimes screw you up backwards.
