Culture Shock #158

Chinese coworker asks, "Why not take up Chinese citizenship since you've been in China for so long?" I struggled for a bit trying not to give a rude reply. I think my reply in the end was still not as diplomatic as it should.

1 - Hahaha. I see. That's a trap.

Imagine, I met a Chinese on the bus, we were chatting and he said he was disappionted about Chinese people. Recently he said they are all crazy and rotten. Before it was ok, but "yue lay yue bu hao." He doesn't want to go back.
Can you believe this? It's my first time I heared something like this out of a Chinese mouth! (Comment this)
